Why would you filter out an auction listing on a newsgroup that is designated
for buying and selling radio equipment!? That would be like adding "packet" to
your filters in the rec.radio.digital newsgroup!

Honestly, I don't mind someone listing a ebay once in a while using
FA. The main problem I have is the one guy posting many items everyday
and trying to get around the filters. He knows what he is doing and
that is wrong. After all the discussion on here about him, he still
continues to do it. And this is not the only news group that he does
this on. The guy is a ass plain and simple.

Items listed on ebay are technically "for sale", although they are being
auctioned.

You're the one that's got a problem with the postings, you're the one that
needs to take the "extra steps". Unlike you, that vast majority of the
group here either: A) are not troubled by FA postings or B) actually want to
see them. You, and the couple of others who continually complain, are the
problem. Talk about "man-made" noise! I think the reason you don't filter
the FA postings or block specific senders is because you actually enjoy
having something to complain about. If you didn't have the FA postings,
you'd have to find something else to **** and moan about.

FS/FA/FT/WTT/WTB - what the hell difference does it make? I don't mind
reading the ads. That is what this news group is for. What DOES get me, is
if they list the same items 20 times in a day or a week. Give the ads time
to work. But otherwise, the news groups are like a News Paper - everyone has
a favorite section. You read what you want and ignore the rest. What is so
hard about that? IF you're not liking a person's posts, place him on blocked
senders' list under newsgroups. You'll never have to worry about his posts
again UNLESS someone replies with his wording included. FILTERS were made
for people to do just that, FILTER. USE IT, whining won't do it. MNS.

MR NO SPAM January 18th 04 03:59 AM

To carry this post a step further... if you want to call ME an E-Bay idiot,
so be it... But I WILL tell you, just this past week, I found and bought an
item on E-bay I had been in search of for 3 years. The item I got - IF I
could have gotten it locally would have cost me $300 more than I paid for
this item. I know because I had priced it. So if being able to acquire items
of need on E-Bay and reasonable is being an idiot, then so be it. I'd have
to have been an idiot to allow this item to slip through my fingers even if
I had saved only a $100. Just a few weeks ago, I bought yet another item on
E-Bay that was hard to find and paid a decent price for it. I saved maybe
$50 this trip as opposed to new locally, BUT the item is no longer available
as "new". And this item was brand new in the box. E-bay has been very good
for me. A God send in some respects. I've acquired a few other things there
I wouldn't have been able to otherwise. MNS

If they would provide some details about what they are selling, it would be
a little better, but to merely provide an eBay is similar to saying "go get
it, doggie". I gave up on using filters long ago, because of the ever
changing style of posting. I just add them to my kill file, and it works
great.
