of the quietest receivers of anything Icom has ever produced. It does not have
general coverage receive...therefore no synthesizer noise and even the faintest
signals are readable. The Classic Icom website praises this xcvr as one of the
their best efforts. I have owned an Icom IC-751A in the past, and this IC-740
outperforms it. Comes with the original IC-HM7 hand mike. This one looks like
it just came off the assembly line. Manual included. This is a great radio for
digital modes as well.....if you would like a Rigblaster already wired for this
radio for digital operation I have one available for an additional $50. I have
the software disc for HF packet, RTTY, PSK31, SSTV, Pactor, etc. This is the
rigblaster that allows full time hookup with the radio....your existing mike
