There is nothing illegal about the BC200XLT. They were manufactured
before April 1994. The ruling doesn't apply to private sales. Since it's illegal to monitor knowingly the cell channels, the only thing left might be police/fire etc and most are trunked these days. Without trunking, you won't hear much. I don't see on any searches that this is a trunking capable monitor. "Cell Blocked means that the USA cellular phone frequencies are "blocked" from being entered into the Radio Scanner. As of April, 1994, ALL scanners sold in the USA must be Cellular Deleted (Blocked) by the manufacturer, and all scanners Uniden offers are cell blocked." |
