High price on e-Bay was around $1200 as reported by Hampedia -- URL:
http://aade.com/hampedia/kenwoodp.htm

But "Collector Quality Mint " MAY draw more.
If it is as you say, A collector will pay considerable more for it on E-Bay
than the guy around the corner.

However the last "mint" TL-922A on E-Bay went for $867

Keep in mind these amps do not cover the WARC bands. A draw back to many
buyers

One thing is you take a risk putting it up on ebay. I have never
really been to happy with that service. For one it costs to much to
post. Two people won't buy what they bid on. Three ebay does nothing
about it. Four its so easy for people to lie about you. In my opinion
ebay SUCKS! I have had to many bad experances and not enough good to
out weigh the good. Enough of that!
The TL 922 Kenwood amp is a good looking amp and it was the mate to
the 930 and 940 kenwood radios. Single 3-500 is the tube that in that
amp. That amp also has alot of problems in the relay curcuit and in
the band switch. The band switch isn't heavy enough for the amount of
power going through it. Its a one kilowatt amp not two.
If you want to know more about the curuit fixes for the amp check out
this
http://www.somis.org/922.html
Its worth is not much more then a SB 220 or SB 221. If the
curcuit fix has been done than it might be worth 800 to 1000 bux.

Wrong.
It uses 2 3-500Z's, not 1.
It does not have a problem with the bandswitch, it is a heavy ceramic one.
The relays are not a problem, again very heavy.

Maybe you have it confused with a CB amp.

We have a TL-922 at the U of Wis -Milw radio club and we (I) used to beat the
#$%^ out of it. That is a very good amp.

Doesn't answer your question, but I'm sure there are others that really like
this amp.

Hell... I make a killing when I sell via Ebay. Have only had 1 or 2 folks in
several hundred not pay. The ones with zero feedback seem to pay the
quickest. Most folks pay within an hour after the sale via Paypal. Most are
thrilled when they get the merchandise. Not uncommon for me to make a few
hundred off of $100 worth of hamfest buys. Kind of considering giving up my
real job and doing it full time. Could probably make a decent living if I
gave it the effort it deserved.

My bad I read the the paper wrong.I read a paper that said that the
amp had only 1KW. However I know that the band switchs in the earlier
models had a problem. Where did you get the idea that I would think
that it was a cb amp. I think that you have CB on the brain I bet that
is where you got your start. I got my first ham ticket when I was 16
and I'm 45 now.I was trying to help you.

I hear about everything , and most folks that arent too wormy, are glad
for my service's..Whats your you reputation wet back? You cant even
spell prophet! Most people cant spend the day and nite watching the
internet like you AND me. And my rigs are always checked, fixed and
gauranteed 100%...another big problem with many sellers. If I could
make 30% this wouldnt be my retirement hobby either. It would be worth
listening to trolls like you. Sounds like a bunch of Ardvark doo-doo
to me. LOL M

Bzzzzt, Wrong answer, Would you like to try again for whats behind door
No. 2????

The TL-922 has TWO (2) 3-500Z Tubes inside, and IS a TWO KW (2Kw)
Amp. The bandswitch is a High Quality Ceramic type that has a
very GOOD Service History, and has not shown to be undersized
for the design in any way. You just don't have a clue about this
piece of equipment. Maybe you never actually have used one. If
you have actually used one, then your information comes from very
bad operator errors.

a comment about murray, you may or may not like the fact that he makes
a proFit, however he is an honest man and if something is wrong with
an item he sells, you know that he will make it right. a man is

just a comment..... nothing else, no reason to flame me, or get mad at me
and cuss me, i just had to let my radio i just got, go for 200 bucks so i
could get a junky 200 buck rig with working finals .. cause the 706 cost me
an amount that i could not afford the other 300 bucks to replace the
finals.... remember murray??? guess i should have stuck with the ft-100 i
traded for the 706, huh murray??? or the original 706mk-2g i originally
traded for that ft-100 that sounded like crap and never could get the thing
to sounds decent, except on fm, huh murray?!?!?

like i say, just a comment, dont get mad at me again and start flaming me,
and cussing at me....just a comment....only a comment....i never demanded my
radio be fixed, ofcourse, a friend never offered eather... so its my fault,
i guess... huh murray?

all i do is present the facts, i let the public decide , murray has given me
a lot of really good deals, and i would deal with him again, i guess you
just get a busted junk radio from time to time for a perfectly good working

I second this. Personal experience - I bought an SB-201 from him.
The package handling experts at UPS were nice enough to break a tube.
Emailed Murray about it. 2 days later, a replacement arrived in the
mail.

Murray has always done me right. Prices were ok and equipment was as
advertised.

Same is true of Steve Burnham and Tom Stack. They catch a little
grief on here from time to time, but they have all done me right in
all dealings.
