Default FS: 1958 Birch SP656 Stereo Phonograph - restored! $75

FS: 1958 Birch SP656 Stereo Phonograph - restored! $75

For sale is a very nice antique Phonograph / Record Player, Birch
model SP 656. Stereophonic with a separate Speaker unit that plugs
into main unit via a long attached RCA cord. Date stamped on inside
of unit is Dec 9, 1958 ! Phonograph plays great. I thoroughly cleaned
and lubricated motor so platter spins accurately at all 4 speeds.. 16,
33, 45 & 78. This is a direct drive type player with no belts to
replace. Filter capacitors replaced with new electrolytic caps, but
old can capicitor left on chasis to preserve intergrity and look. All
3 tubes are good, 12AX7, and 2, 50L6GT's. Player has a Sonotone 8T
cartridge and stylus that will play 33's or 78's. Has M-S switch for
Mono - Stereo mode on inside. Outside knobs are Treble, Bass &
Volume. All are clean... the paint on lettering of Bass knob has
mostly worn off but could be easily touched up.

Dimensions of main phonograph unit are 10"H x 18"W x 20"D and weighs
about 22 lbs. Separate speaker unit is 8.5"H x 17"W x 8.5"D and
weighs 6 lbs. Both have a "Stereophonic" logo/pin on the grill cloth.
The tin "Birch" logos (pictured) have fallen off of the grill cloth
from each unit, but they are in EXCELLENT condition and just need to
be glued back on... I'd rather let the buyer do this as they like.

Main unit is a 2 tone, beige & light yellow pattern, and the speaker
unit is just the matching beige pattern. Main unit has original white
handle and black rubber feet on 2 sides, so it can be stored in either
a horizontal or verticle position. (tone arm can be snapped down to
lock in place).

The unit has a few stains and nicks on the vinyl/cloth covered surface
but nothing major.. a very presentable phonograph from 1958 that works
!!!

Asking $75, plus actual costs UPS Ground from zip 27517, prepaid via
PayPal, MO or Cashier's Check. Can pickup if local to Chapel Hill,
NC. Please email if interested or would like pictures.
