P. T. Barnum said "A fool and his money are easy to part!"
And the internet didn't exist then. GC "cl" wrote in message o.verio.net... I posted about this just the other day. Is it a new scam? I don't know... But it has happened to me twice now in the past week - and I had never seen it before. You get a "question" sent to you - looking like an actual E-Bay member wants to ask a question sort of deal. When you click on reply, it will direct you to a screen to ask your sign in information. THIS IS WRONG... DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. I have items up for bid now, and I got a question asked of me of one of those items.... When I hit reply, it took me directly to a "response" area to type in my answer, it DID NOT ask for my sign in information. THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE - the Scam will ask for it. An Auto reply to a legitimate item does not. PLEASE BE CAREFUL.... when replying to anything. The last time - which I posted about not too long ago, the ass hole made it look like he was asking about a guy ripped him off, which supposedly dealt with me. This time, they asked it I replied to a posted item to ask a question. I still say those ass holes ought to be shot on sight when found. They ruin it for everyone else. |
