They do not automatically deduct your State taxes. You apparently referred to them as morons for not doing that. You must contact them and advise them of the amount, (which you apparently have now done). http://www.opm.gov/retire/html/faqs/...p#withholdings I didn't mean to be mean-spirited in my reply to you, but it is difficult for me to understand how someone wouldn't look at their retirement deposit information and note that no state income tax was being withheld.
