As I live on a fixed disabilty income I have to watch what I can get and
the ones I've seen on ebay have gone outside of my price range and not
having a car to drive around Rosamond with, it'd be hard to fine any. I
may end up sticking a 102 steel whip on top of this trailer I live in.
Got to be carefull about keying down what with all the t.v. ants so
close around here.
My last Starduster was one I got at a yard sale back in the 80's, had
broken lower radis, so I used some amm tubing to fix them and had it on
a pole so that it was just about 5ft off the ground on a hillside.
With no radio shops around here I've not seen anything in the way of
what's being sold now a days.
I'd even go for a Super Scanner elec. beam or a PDL. Bet that dates me.

The price range for what you would pay for a Super Scanner or PDL II
will cover an array of new antennas so your choice there should be
plentiful. Try a dipole, two or three. Use a stock microphone and a good
ground. While camping, I've used antrons in trees strapped with bungee
cords in the past with excellent results and at one point, I too had a
102 inch fiberglass on a pole at one time. SWR was tricky at first, but
when I brought it down to an otherwise acceptable level, it worked quite
well.
