Basically anything that you would use to protect the radio before
transporting it (including the original styrofoam inside the shipping box).

Most of the after-market knobs I've seen protrude a good bit farther out
than the originals. If you've got a lot of leverage on a longer knob that
is attached to a plastic (or easily bent metal) shaft, it will cause (at the
best) a wobbly control or (at the worst) a damaged volume or tuning
component.
