There's been a lot of talk recently about a broadband access system
called
Power Line Communications (PLC).
The correct terminology is 'Broadband Power Line' or BPL.
They mean the same thing. The ARRL uses both terms in some of it's
literature.

For whatever reason, BPL is used mostly in the US, and PLC is more common
abroad. There's a comedic theory which states that hard consonants are
funnier than soft consonants. Based on that theory, the term BPL could be
as much as 100% funnier than PLC
Frank Dresser.
I've found that using the term 'BPL' in a web search will produce more
results than 'PLC'.
