That information certainly had some practical value when it was
originally assembled. People knew but didn't understand why some
animals could make them sick if they were eaten so it was good advice
to follow. In todays world it is irrelevant because we know how to
clean and cook food. If the dietary habits of those animals are of
concern to you then you should visit a cattle feedlot or poultry ranch.
Did you know that non-bottom fish can also carry parasites because
they eat the smaller bottom feeders?
You need to look at the world around as it is now rather than blindly
following 2000 year old information.
Your logic seems perfectly plausible from a strictly "logical"
standpoint - and if you leave out the "God Factor"! I seriously doubt
that God is a bit "brighter" today than He was one hundred million years
ago.
Not all digestive systems are the same. A dog can eat things we cannot
because their digestive system if far different.
I have not studied this, but it is possible that clean fish can dispose
of the toxins they receive by eating the unclean fish -- if indeed, this
happens, and I do not doubt it. While they may not dispose of all of it
they may be better equipped to dispose of the toxins.
You've made me hungry for some nice pork B-B-Q or some dandy fried shrimp.
