When mobile, I run 500-1KW into a davemade 1/2 wave electrical length
mobile antenna, 1/4 wave physical length. I get excellent signal reports
all the time, lots from australia when the skip is in, I guess the thing
is getting out...

Now go sit by the water and in the middle of your conversation, shut off
your linear. I think you may surprise yourself. Ask Lelnad about getting
out when sitting by a lake running a linear.
