Default Deciding between radios, Owners Opinions requested

To a point I might agree with you, about Ham Radio Dying, and as an old time
CB'er from many years back CB has changed and died a death also. Sometimes
you appreciate what you work for and a Ham License takes effort and some
talent. I wish all operators were thoughtful when they broadcast but many
aren't. I have CB still, necessary with the traffic around Atlanta, but
there isn't much pleasure in what you hear on those bands. CB is to me still
a trucker's companion on the road and a god source for over the hill traffic
information but that's it. Sad that Ham radio is devolving in some ways to
the same trash. I have hope and faith though that there are still some
thoughtful and interesting people left to chat with.

Just my opinion and mine only

I would not waste my money on ham equipment. Get a CB. Ham radio is

I have made the trip to the local Ham Store and after viewing all the
rigs that they had on the shelves I have limited my choice down to the
following three rigs listed below.

If there are any owners of the Radios listed I would love to have your
input about your radio and would you buy the same again? Also, if
there is a person, I would appreciate hearing from someone that has
owned one, two or three of the radios listed and how you would compare
the lot based upon your operating experience. Also if you had a
specific gripe about one? Thanks

Rig #1 IC-746PRO by Icom HF, 50M, 2 Mdeters

Rig #2 TS-2000S by Kenwood

Rig #3 Mark-V (FT-1000MP) Field by Yaesu

I have obtained my impressions of each by listening at the controls of
each and while two have VHF and one VHF & UHF while the last is HF only

While I am not going to be making a decision for a while I cherish any
input from current or past owners on their experiences.
