Ah, so there are some *real* 2 watt GMRS radio transmitters out there.

The only way to know for sure is to measure the output of the radio.

My Pryme PR-460 measures 6.5 watts hot off the charger. My Audiovox
GMRS2000 measures 1.75 watts when being powered from a 13.8 volt
source.
