Are you trying to pick up NPR in Honolulu??? can you hear the

station on
your
car FM radio??.............GC

I can hear NPR from my junk bedside radio (emerson) that I have now
but I can't dial it in perfectly.

So I just thought if I could get a great radio with all the elements I
want, it would be better.

I do have a Sangean in another place and it seems to work fairly well
although it sometimes fades on the Honolulu FM stations.

Besides, a shortwave sounds like lots of fun.

You might consider an FM only beam antenna to reduce signal fades along
with a new radio...... I lived on Maui , 1984-1986 and I did alot of BCBDX
along with SWDX.. It's surprising to hear Australlia, NewZealand Japan on
BCB........Since you live on a farm, you have lot's of room for long wire
antennas ..............It's sad that Radio Tahaiti and Radio Cook islands
are gone
but cruse through 3.2-3.3 mhz for Paupa New Guinea ........GC
