XLNC1 is a name the station has chosen to go by. The call letters, as
assigned, are XHLNC. A station can name itself whatever it wants, within
reason. But the licensed calls can not be "XLNC1" as Mexico does not have
the XL-- prefix to use, and only licenses new FMs with the XH---- prefix; no
numerals are part of any call set as Mexico has not used numerals in calls
since before the 70's, when on-channel AM repeaters had consecutive numbers
after them.
