Default Converting terminal strip to watertight connector.

I have a Ham-M rotor that was built with a terminal strip in it's base
to which the rotor control cable can be terminated. I would like to
convert the connection to a watertight connector that could be made up
in advance to facilitate rapid deployment and tear down for EMCOMM
work as well as eliminate the corrosion that happens on the terminal
strip. Has anyone done this and how did you go about it? I would
also like to terminate the controller end in a connector for the same
speed of deployment and tear down issues.

I thought it might make sense to use the same connector at both ends
and have the same type at each end of the cable so that either end
could go to either device. Any advice and cautions are welcome both
on list and off.
