Hi - if anyone has any experience with an R75, I would appreciate any
ideas you have. *The R75 has several filter settings, narrow-normal-
wide. *Until Monday night, they all worked perfectly. *Suddenly, on
the AM-wide setting, the signal is enormously attenuated - not
inaudible, but virtually all the gain is gone in that setting. *In all
other settings the radio works as it should.

Any ideas? *Is this a filter problem, a solder problem, other? *The
radio has not received any knocks or spikes I know of. *It does have
the Kiwa mods, which means the fault occurs in the 6 kHz filter that
replaces the original 15 kHz filter.

Thanks,
Bruce

There are a bunch of updates. You need to send the radio to Washington.
They will make it better than new for about $150-$200. There are bad
capacitors inside sealed sub-assemblies; the whole radio gets taken apart..

ICOM America is a small company with nice people. You can get the lead
service tech on the phone no problem. They have a flat rate for the R75
upgrade as I recall.

How to Contact Technical Support

Thanks - I would love to do this - but the thing has Kiwa mods that I
really like, and I don't want IcomAmerica to restore it back to any
"original condition". However, I will try a phone call to see what
they can do for me.
