Default Waveform portability?

In the context of the news release quoted below, what does the term "waveform
portability" mean?

"FT. WAYNE, Ind. - PrismTech Solutions Americas, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary
of PrismTech Corporation, has been selected to provide waveform portability
support to the U.S. Navy's software-defined radio (SDR) systems. The work will
be conducted through a support services contract overseen by the U.S. Navy's
Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR). Scientific Research
Corporation (SRC) serves as the prime contractor."
