Hi All,
I just uploaded a new beta release of xnec2c, a graphical (GUI) application which incorporates nec2c, my translation to C of NEC2, into an interactive antenna analysis and visualization tool. xnec2c does not need and does not produce a NEC2 output file (unless requested) to visualize results like radiation patterns or frequency-dependent data. Instead, results produced by the incorporated NEC2 engine are stored in buffers and presented in graphical form as they are produced in the frequency loop (watch the max gain and VSWR plots grow before your eyes! ;-) ). All frequency dependent parameters that are displayed (including radiation patterns) can be re-calculated for a new frequency by either clicking on the graph of frequency-dependent data or entering the frequency in a spin-button widget. xnec2c now incorporates a basic NEC2 input file Editor that simplifies the creation and editing of NEC2 input files and speeds up the edit/save/reload cycle. This editor also hides most of the awkward details of the NEC2 input file and so reduces the need for detailed knowledge of this file's format. This is a fresh beta release of xnec2c and likely to have some bugs/annoyances but it was hard for me to code since I am under heavy pressure from illness in the family. However I will try to find time to fix new bugs, hoping xnec2c will become a useful graphical NEC2 derivative for Linux users. Look for xnec2c (and other ham radio apps) in my website: http://5b4az.mattsnetwork.co.uk/ Regards Neoklis Ham Radio Call: 5B4AZ QTH Loc: KM64MR My Website: http://5b4az.mattsnetwork.co.uk/ |
