Default Yaesu ATAS-100 and ATAS-120

The ATAS-100 is a good antenna using a rubber boot for coil protection. Had
a few reports about water getting into the rubber boot causing corrossion
problems internatlly, which could be repaired.
The ATAS-120 was a remake of the ATAS-100 BUT used a metal coil protector
that avoided the water damage problem.
I've used both and both work the same way. If the ATAS-100 is available at
a "really" good price, would ensure it operated OK, and would not leave it
on the vehicle 100% of the time...just install it as you need it during a
trip. Therefore avoiding any water damage, which apparantely only occurs
during a rain storm while driving.
A nice Antenna for the price, but would like to compare it to a larger
diameter coil model.

I have been offered a used Yaesu ATAS-100 mobile antenna. Not knowing the
differences with the newer ATAS-120, I am not sure whether it would be
worthwhile to spend (considerably) more money on a new ATAS-120. Does anyone
have information at that regard?
