What I don't understand Tom is that Richard has a brain and yet he
stoops to this kind of behaviour which is usually the path of people incapable of individual thought. The latter I sympathise with and do not feel the need to respond to and ofcourse there is always the evil person lurking around that is filled with hate. For my part I was astonished as to how this group regarded the idea of a diiferent antenna aproach which has now been accepted by better qualified people that you find on this group. I have spoken to people who have known Richard and all say the same thing he is discruntled with life and .. well I wont go into that. But even as amateurs we are all interested in antennas and when yet when one comes along it is rejected without one iota of intelligent educational discussion or thought of delving into just a cacaphony of insults from those who have mistaken anticipation that all is known, at least with this group. Not everybody has the opportunity of getting an education and many are not capable of absorbing it thinking that they know everything that is important. Ofcourse when you read about it you can always take the stance that Roy takes i.e. I don't understand which can change later when it becomes more fully understood. Amateur radio is a hobby for all types of people mostly old guys angry at the thought of change or dying but that is not a reason that thinking people can't get together and discuss a niche in the hobby in the search of knoweledge knowing that knoweledge alone does not lead to miraicles. As for your feelings about San Francisco, it's not like you think it is, and even if it were, at your age no one's going to ask you to play drop-the-soap no matter how eager you might be to join the fun. 73, Tom Donaly, KA6RUH |

Richard you can't change your spots that quickly. I am confident of
what I was talking about and I know you have a brain so I need some convincing as to what you are really up to before I respond in kind. You have turned so many times as you have drawn me into discussions that I have no interest in joining you down there in digging a hole since life is good from where I stand. I tried sharing and it didn't work so you can write a critical article after you read what I have found. Your confirmation is not important in my life. Why don't you dunk my posts so this silliness can come to a stop? Find your jollies elswhere. Cecil, you don't have to postulate a non linear breakdown within the
dielectric to explain the transfer of energy from the charged particle striking the surface of the insulation to the free electrons on the wire... Capacitance will handle that nicely... As you stated, a thicker insulator makes a quieter antenna under static conditions... Capacity effect would seem to answer that... If you don't like that, a charged particle striking the dielectric surface suffers an abrupt change in motion... A charge changing motion has it's own method of talking to us... And, lastly, we have not roundly beaten the water droplet for dripping off the antenna and taking a charge with it... "Bartenner, I'll have one, hic, for the road."... denny / k8do |

Your ideas are interesting, but in order to appreciate them one has to learn to think in a different manner with a different part of the brain than most people are accustomed to using. You should be more pitying than angry at those who don't understand. Just inventing something isn't the end of the process. Explaining and defending are the hard parts. You can do this better if you don't allow yourself to be riled by those who don't agree with you. 73, Tom Donaly, KA6RUH |

So Art, I take it you are impling that people from San Francisco have
something to be ashamed of just because they are from their or even people who visited there should be ashamed of having visited there. Whats your problem with SF, its a wonderful city. I remember being stranded at Chicago O Hare airport because of snow conditions so I wasted time by putting my baggage in a cart and walked around. While doing this some people were giggling and I didnt know why until I realised that I had donned a sweater to keep warm and it had spread across the front .............SAN FRANCISCO............ Do you think I went back and asked them why they was giggling? I knew why..... so I took off the sweater and went for a nice cup of coffe with a smile to myself. Would you like to have that sweater,? I doubt it |
