Yes, what one believes does tend to take one in that particular
direction ... optimistic/pessimistic--yin/yang thing ...

However, mankind has a good "batting average", what he tends to
work/strive/imagine to, he tends to achieve--one only needs to examine
science though the past-to-date to find this proof (or God if your
particular religion is science!) ;-)
