I am in total agreement, it is unfathomable, to me, how any could call
that shot different.

But here, in the rec.radio.amateur.antenna.twilight.zone ng, just the
EXACT OPPOSITE seems true.

Someone is an idiot, no doubt. If it is me, I certainly hope I can see
this shortly and stop making such an idiot out of myself!

If it is the others, I just hope they stop, shortly ...

Sounds like you are already attracted. The question is, are you ready

Now, there's a test of theory and acclaim being bundled under the
mantle of "news releases!" Volunteer for elective surgery and
elevate this story above the fold in USA Today.

As for antennas, I see none of the dewy-eyed crowd of worshipers
daring to tread the turf of building/modeling/discussing the necessary
glass prism to commemorate this momentous announcement of FTL DXing.
Can we even hope their zeal in this well-spring of faith extends to
pushing a credit card across the display case to buy a magazine about
one?

Sure enough, Cecil. I do think that continual suspension of disbelief is
in the same boat however.

It is a slippery slope some practice between healthy skepticism, and
trying to force rational people to keep their mouths shut about any new
theory no matter how crackpot it is.

When taken to its extreme, the practitioner ends up believing every
alternative theory, and is skeptical toward all established ones.

I would have loved to have you and I present during the first Wright
brothers experiments in flight, the first research into developing
masers and lasers (buck rogers ray gun, really), the first reach into
interplanetary exploration, etc., etc., etc.

I could have prophesied your stand and arguments perfectly, they would
simply have appeared as they do now ...

The least you could do is fake an open mind ... just to fool us now and
then.

to the Smarandache hypothesis?

Tunneling time in itself is expected to be zero in superluminal
phenomena. Interesting.

F. Hund in 1927 noticed Tunneling in 1927. It is some pretty old
physics. It is also a natural outgrowth of quantum mechanics. It is
needed to explain how the sun works, and even the inflationary universe.

Isn't it quite obvious, it is too early to settle on "hard facts."

Indeed, I have made no bones about my belief(s), at a future date the
ether will come into play in all this, something we are simply ignoring
at this date.

It seems all are aware when Einstein denied the existence of the ether
(luminal ether really), and few are aware when he reneged and made
provision for it (since it simply passes though the sides of any bottle
which we can construct to contain it, its' makeup remains a mystery) ...
you are too impatient, you want all the answers to the
universe--immediately. Beware, in your haste you may choose wrong.

I have found great enjoyment in pondering "its'" remaining mysteries ...
the CERN project will shed more light upon all of this ... one can
always hope it will "provide all the answers", however, I think,
probably not.

If this all seems rather cryptic and evasive, such is the very nature of
this beast.
