Funny you should mention that Ed.

One of my long term projects is a "where is the family car" system that
I had hoped to use a very narrow band/slow data link for GPS data as
well as short text message exchange. Thinking along the lines of super
slow QRSS/PSK31 setup on 13.56MHz. The narrow bandwidth and low power
would I hope cover much of the country but I'll admit I haven't done the
maths on it.

I have seen a PSK63 system that does HF mail type exchanges. Kind of
slow but very do-able. Just a HF rig and laptop/PC at both locations and
you can stay in touch! When the sigs are real good of course you can use
plain old SSB!

I just ordered a digital squawk box made by AOR. I'm interested in

A person should be able to come up with a multiple PSK31 signal method
of sending hfemail. Maybe even PSK63. I wouldn't want to send much
faster than that for BW/SNR reasons.
