John

This antenna is best used for receiving. While it could be used for
transmitting, the losses through the matching and switching networks mean
that other designs are more efficient at radiating a signal.

For example, ferrite rods make great compact receiving antennas, but are
practically useless for transmitting. Just because you have a great
receiving antenna, it doesn't mean that it will transmit equally well.
