If you have access to archives of CQ or 73 magazine, many years ago
there was an article describing the disassembly and rehab of the lower coupling of the Hy-Gain line of vertical antennas. As I recall there is some sort of internal coil/capacitor structure inside the lowest foot or so of the antenna. My guess is that the story was done sometime in the late 60's or the 70's. This is going only on my memory. I don't have the issues. It needs some repairs and I am wondering if anyone can lead me to the construction/assembly details of this antenna. In particular how the connector at the bottom of the antenna connects to the internals! VK5JE You have hobbies. I have hobbies. Chances are I have one that you don't. I'll leave it up to you to decide! http://www.flightsimulatorandhobbies.com/ ----------------------------------------- |
