There was an 'if' clause. YOU made the choice to avoid
the opportunity for learning.

I notice that your own examples are often constructed
with ideal components, so this aversion to ideal
components is not universal. Perhaps only when it
can be conveniently used to avoid situations where
your deeply held beliefs may be threatened?
