That is one of his tricks. He did something similar when I corrected him

Frank is the same, having rubbished the 756 them produced data which
shows it out performs the radio he has been raving about, goes on about
the 756 issue being a red herring.

There is no point is continuing trying to educate such people, I suspect

Spike can be the same but tends to go in for silly nick picking,
pretending he is searching out details and being analytical. He is being
something but analytical is 7 letters too long.

You said you wanted to buy a radio, depending on what you want, I'm sure
if you can decide if you need a base station or a mobile and some other
facilities, eg IF DSP, VHF/UHF, a TS2000, IC756Pro3 or TS480 would do
the job admirably.

If you want a 480, I noticed Martin Lynch has a S/H one in stock when I
was in there today, we called in returning from short break away. I
should have noted the price but I forget, my XYL drew my attention to
something she was interested in and I got distracted. Fortunately not so
distracted enough to forget to pick up a new quad band Wouxan ;-)

He had a couple of 718s as well, they were about £400 and a 756p3 for
about £1600. Also the Yaesu mobile with the oversized turning knob, I
forget the model, perhaps a 897? There where others, there are just the
ones I recall.

Best thing, if you can't get to a dealer and try a few, is see what the
locals have and see if you can visit their shacks and try them to see
what you like.
