Default Reflector Length??

I'm diddling with the design of a homebrewed 20M hexagonal wire beam a
la the Traffie Hexbeam. I have the driven element resonated at
14.150 in the modeler. Now I have to add the reflector to the model.
The question is how much longer should the refelector be vs. the
overall length of the driven element in terms of percenatge/scale
factor. I'm much more interested in F/B performance than I am in
forward gain. Does anybody who has been there have suggestions for a
starting point??

I would say, Use 4nec2 to let it automatically determine the reflector
length and/or spacing for optimal F/B ratio, or send me your EzNec,
NecWin+, *.ant data or whatever modeler you are using, and I'll let
you know the spacing and/or length.

Arie.

p.s. excuses for the new thread, because somehow I am not able to
reply any more on an existing posting because I get below message:

"Unable to retrieve message
"

Anybode having a suggestion to overcome this or how to get more
detailed error info ?

If I remember correctly, Google gives their posters the option
of the article expiring after a certain number of days and
not being retained. Looks like that article expired.

There's an offer I can't refuse. After I add a "generic" reflector to
the model I can ship you an .nwp file probably sometime on Friday,
Saturday at the latest.

Brian, I did some quick F/B optimization runs runs with the NWplus
model you supplied me. I have included two different Nec-2 based
results. One with limited space in mind, the does require a bit more
space.

With some additional keyboard action you should be able to get the
model back into NWplus.
