many have mentioned that using my sgc237 it's better to have the rf hot shorter then the rf gnd/counterpoise Hi Myles, I didn't see that/those particular posting(s), but I cannot imagine that being an issue. got confused here why is that better, i mean understand many have said it prevents the rf gnd from radiating the coax shield (bad) Sounds like bum advice. However, to snub radiating currents on the coax shield you use a choke. The choke can be either with ferrites or air winding the coax itself. This was discussed previously in this forum, consult the archive with a search against your postings: http://groups-beta.google.com/group/...n&lr=&ie=UTF-8 to get your bearings, and: http://groups-beta.google.com/advanc...&lr=&ie=UTF-8& to perform a specific search. I notice from another posting, you report mixed results about interfering with TV reception. This can come from a mix of possible problems, again, all this has been discussed in previous postings of your threads. One thing I see missing in your description of your new antenna is confirmation that you have also choked the control lines to your SGC 237. If not, do it. 73's Richard Clark, KB7QHC |
