connectors for 450 Ohm window line.

Does anyone in this NG know of any such connector? If yes, where
can they be purchased? And if not, how about clever work-arounds--
perhaps doing something with banana plugs?

I use the Radio Shack banana plugs. They're heavy duty. Have a male
plug at one end, a female jack at the other end. Attach the ladderline
wire with the built-in thumb screws. The double banana RS connectors
are the same width as 450 ohm ladderline. As I understand, they're
patterned after the old General Radio banana plugs, which are no
longer available.

The Pomona MDP series is similar, but uses an internal setscrew rather
than a thumbscrew. Digi-Key sells the Pomona plugs with nickel-plated
brass contacts for $2.47 in onesies, quite a bit less than the $6.29
gold-plated Radio Shack versions. Pomona does make gold-plated models
but Digi-Key doesn't carry them.

ocean and have used them for over ten years at this location with on
corrosion problems whatsoever.

A good alternative - if you can find them - are the Belling-Lee "O-Z"
banana plugs, available in 3mm and 4mm diameters.

For data, see http://uk.farnell.com (no "www") and enter 317147 in the
Search box. Under "Tech Info" you can click the little page icon to see
a PDF data sheet.

The data sheet doesn't say so, but they are silver-plated. I've used
them outside for years, with no noticeable corrosion. Also the Z-shaped
spring in the plug is very easy to re-tension with a thumbnail.

I use banana plugs and they work great. You can even
get them spaced approximately for 450 ohm line.
