The simple way to find out is to model it on Eznec/4nec2 etc...
In my mind a HF yagi will never be quite high enough and there will be multiple lobes at differing takeoff angles. Changing the boom angle to the horizontal will tend to change where these lobes point so one would experience a change in gain to stations at specific distances. How much difference I dont know because I dont have a handle on how critical the refraction angle is through the ionosphere.
