Jim:
The cable used on crank-up towers is standard stranded galvanized steel cable of appropriate diameter. Most of the Home Improvement places sell it and the ferrules and crimping tools and thimbles. McMaster- Carr is a good source on the Internet. Also any of the off-road truck specialty shops have cable, but often not that small. Boat shops are another source. And, if you want to really spend money, go to an aircraft repair shop. Be aware stainless is not as strong as galvanized steel for the same diameter, and that there are several stranding schedules, so match the style when buying. -- Crazy George Remove N O and S P A M imbedded in return address "JM" wrote in message ... Can anyone advise me as to where I might purchase new cables for a Hy-gain HG-54HD crank-up tower. I noticed mine are beginning to rust on the top most portion of the tower. I have attempted to reach hy-gain but they just say we don't make them anymore. Thanks for your help. Jim WA2IJA |
