i have a couple of 'cap packages' that are stuffed w/wax -- or
whatever the brown goo is-- like the kind used to seal slugs in tuned coils. one is a bakelite case, the other a metal box, both w/the caps and leads buried in the goo, which seals the bottom of each case. the metal box one is a cornell-dubilier. is there an easy to remove the goo -- maybe by melting it out? want to see the innards clearly before pulling the caps so i can rebuild correctly. cap values are known -- mostly a matter of seeing how the leads connect and how insulated from the case for the metal one. ab |
