I am thinking of using a 6ES8 in a Pullen mixer for a HBR
receiver project. Ted used the second harmonic of the LO for the bands above 7 mc. I'm wondering if the Pullen mixer is suitable for this sort of LO scheme? The original design used a sharp cutoff pentode in the mixer with light capacitive coupling for LO injection to the grid. I had hoped to used a balanced mixer, but it is entirely unsuited for this application. Any advice on the Pullen's suitability? Pete |
