WKRP was based on WQXI-AM. Dr Johnny Fever was Skinny Bobby Harper and
Venus Flytrap was Night Train Lane. In 1979, a station is Dallas, Ga got the callsign WKRP. (The wanted WDLS but WKLS objected), so Mitch Lepord got that call. I worked there in 1981-1982. Still have some airchecks. First record play on WKRP in Dallas, GA was Lonsome Loser, and it was started off at the wrong speed! LOL 33 1/3 instead of 45. "Dana" wrote in message ... I think some of that tv show was filmed in Atlanta at what was back then 94-q, (wqxi fm) am I right? http://www.randomc.com/~dana/oldies |
