On WBZ in the 1970's Larry Glick used to play this tuneful, swaggering
German march song, accompanied by war sounds, during the 0515 Farm & Market Report. The poor guy would be dutifully reciting the costs of various agricultural commodities at top speed over the telephone, and all the while Der Krauwinkler's Lamstruf (spelling? Larry's name for it) would be blazing away along with heavy artillery. Once, I requested in it the earlier portion of his program and he kindly obliged with the full retinue of sound effects. I would pay a fair price to find a recording of this wondrous tune, if no other reason than old times' sake. Anybody have a copy of this piece? Thanks, Bruce |
