This recent discussion also brought back to mind a radio drama series which I only heard one or two episodes of from 1984 or so that was broadcast on public radio stations. After a web search I found the title "Moon Over Morocco" and the company that produced it, ZBZ. Visiting their web site I discovered that it is possible to buy the series on CD, but they are charging the exorbitant price of USD 50 for the single CD. How does ZBS get it to fit on one CD? It's nearly ten hours long. I think the version we had at WREK came on twenty LPs. Other CDs on their site of other radio shows which they produced are in the USD 20 price range, which although high by todays prices for CDs is rather more reasonable for such specialist material. But USD 50 for a single CD??? I seriously doubt they managed to get the whole thing onto a single CD. How much is Fourth Tower of Inverness? That one was also a whole stack of LPs and I had to dub the intro cuts on every single one of them to cart. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. C'est suisse, et tres, tres precis." |
