Going to the page with all the details, it is 8 *audio* CDs, so in fact
it works out to USD 6.125 per CD which is of course very reasonable.

Well they could do if it was a data CD with MP3 files. In fact they do
also offer those (320 kbps) for USD 45 which you would admit is effectively
more expensive per bit.
