Default 590 AM, but where?

Hello,
From my Miami, Florida, location I heard a station last night on the 590AM

frequency that I could not identify.
I heard it pretty clear but could not catch the station ID. It did mention
both an AM and an FM call sign. The format was pop music. They are having a
"Women of Rock" weekend for Mother's Day. I made an internet search of thi
s frequency and found numerable stations in the US and one in Toronto, Cana
da, none has a format that matches what I heard.
Can anyone help me identify the station?
Thanks!

Any sort of a slogan heard? Could you be a little more precise about the time?

There's a station in Lawrenceburg, TN, (WWLX) that plays rock music and uses the slogam "WLX", but they're fairly low powered. Nothing else comes close.

Your internet searching skills need improving.

The way I found your answer was to go to Wonkeypedia for the list of all
stations on 590 kHz, then check the format of each and if close,
then go to the web site of the station.

And the answer is ...

WARM-AM 590 Scranton, PA

http://en.wikipedia.ORG/wiki/WARM_%28AM%29

Class B 5 kW (day and night)

which means it could well get down to Miami, FL at night
under the right conditions.

The web site is at

http://www.warm590.COM/

and you will see the station carries under the "Shows" drop down menu
a feed from

"The Oldies Channel"

http://www.trueoldieschannel.com/

where in the flash animation display you will see

"The Mother's Day WONDER WOMEN of Rock & Roll Weekend

It's On All Weekend Long

... ON the True Oldies Channel"

Hope that helps to confirm what you heard last night.

OOPS ...

I should have kept looking through that list before hitting SEND on
that previous message because there is a station on 590 kHz much nearer
Miami, FL than WARM-AM that also carries The Oldies Radio Channel,
namely WAFC-AM 590 in Clewiston, FL "*serving South Florida*"

http://www.trueoldieswafc.com/

So this is undoubtedly the station which you head last night in Miami, FL,
and thus is not a long distance station at all, but just a station on the
edge of night time reception.
