Los Angeles Clippers Make Move To KLAC

https://radioinsight.com/blog/headli...-move-to-klac/

Following the sale and format change of former flagship 980 The Beast KFWB
Los Angeles, the NBAs Clippers are making an in-season move to a new radio
home. iHeartMedia Sports AM 570 KLAC will be the new home of the Clippers
broadcasts starting on Saturday, March 19. The new multi-year deal places
the Clippers in second position to the Los Angeles Dodgers and will move
their games to Conservative Talk 1150 The Patriot KEIB when both conflict.
iHeartMedia will run ancillary Clippers content across its entire Los
Angeles cluster. The L.A. Clippers and iHeartMedia Los Angeles today
announced an exclusive multi-year broadcast rights agreement. Beginning
with the Clippers game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday, March 19
at 4:30 p.m. PT, AM 570 LA Sports/KLAC will be the official radio home of
the Clippers for all preseason, regular season and Playoff games while also
providing comprehensive year-round coverage. “AM 570 LA Sports/KLAC has
long been the premier destination for sports in Los Angeles,” Clippers
President of Business Operations Gillian Zucker said. “We are proud to
establish an exceptional, long-term destination for Clippers basketball on
the radio with a station that sounds like it was named for us.”
Play-by-play duties will be handled by Brian Sieman, now in his ninth
season calling Clippers action on the radio, while the venerable “Voice of
the Clippers,” Ralph Lawler and former Clipper Michael Smith team up with
Sieman to call all nationally televised games not shown on Fox Sports PRIME
TICKET. Long-time Clippers broadcaster Isaac Lowenkron will continue to
host Clippers pre-game, halftime and post-game shows. Clippers games will
also be heard on The Patriot, KEIB AM 1150 when schedule conflicts arise
with Los Angeles Dodgers baseball broadcasts. Beyond broadcasting the games
on AM 570 LA Sports, Clippers-related programming and promotion will run
across iHeartMedias multi-platform media assets, including radio, digital,
outdoor and music/entertainment events. iHeartMedia Los Angeles and the
L.A. Clippers just reinforced the fact that AM 570 LA Sports is the No. 1
destination for sport in Los Angeles, said Don Martin, Senior Vice
President of Sports Los Angeles, iHeartMedia. Welcome to your new home,
Clipper Nation!”

https://radioinsight.com/blog/headli...oves-to-105-7/

With its three-way swap with Alpha and Lazer about to close, Mapleton
Communications has moved Active Rock/Alternative 92.5 The Bear KBRE
A****er/Merced CA to 1660 KTIQ Merced/105.7 K289CB Los Banos replacing
Spanish Christian Amistad Christiana. The newly branded 105.7 The Bear
retains the syndicated Rob, Anybody Dawn morning show, PD Jason LaChance
in middays, APD/MD Chris Moreno in afternoons, and Sixx Sense at night. The
move of the format off of 92.5 clears the frequency for its sale to Lazer
Broadcasting who will flip the station to its flagship Radio Lazer Regional
Mexican format. Lazer is purchasing KBRE and Spanish AC Magia 106.3 KGAM
from Mapleton as part of a deal in which Mapleton will then acquire Country
96.3 KUBB and Rhythmic CHR Hot 104.7 KHTN from Alpha Media.
