Washington Capitals To Launch DC Translator

The NHLs Washington Capitals will have their games heard on iHeartMedias
104.7 W284CQ Washington DC/101.1 WWDC-HD2 starting with tonights game
against the Carolina Hurricanes.

W284CQ has been rebroadcasting CHR Hot 99.5 WIHT Washington since its
launch last summer. The Capitals have not had all of their games broadcast
on radio this season as they are bumped off Hubbards Federal News Radio
1500 WFED when they conflict with the NBAs Washington Wizards or other
programming. WFED will continue to air games that do not have conflicts in
addition to W284CQ.

The deal runs just through the end of the 2016-2017 season. The Capitals
had been heard on CBS Sports 106.7 The Fan WJFK prior to this year. W284CQ
operates with 99 watts/226m from the Bethesda MD tower utilized by
iHeartMedia as its auxiliary facility for its five Washington FMs.

No word on what programming will surround the Capitals game broadcasts on
W284CQ.

The Washington Capitals have reached an agreement to air broadcasts of
their games on 104.7 FM, the team announced today. 104.7 FM will broadcast
every Capitals game for the rest of the 2016-17 season, as well as pre- and
postgame shows. The radio station will expand and enhance the Capitals
Radio Networks current coverage in the Washington, D.C. area, as well as
extending Capitals broadcasts to Pennsylvania and North Carolina.

Its a great opportunity for us to not only expand our coverage area in
Maryland, D.C. and Virginia, but also to partner with one of our regions
most respected media companies, said Capitals senior director of
broadcasting John Walton. Im happy for our fans that our game day coverage
will be on the FM dial in Washington on 104.7 FM.

Preacher, President, iHeartRadio Washington, D.C. Region Government
Initiatives. Our listeners are going to be thrilled to hear hockeys hottest
team on iHeartRadios 104.7 FM. In the Washington, D.C., region,
iHeartRadios stations include 104.7 FM, 98.7 WMZQ, 97.1 WASH-FM, HOT 99.5,
DC101 and BIG100.

Capitals games will also be broadcast on the 24-hour radio channel, Caps
Radio 24/7, devoted specifically to the Capitals and NHL, and WFED 1500.

In addition to broadcasting all Capitals games, Caps Radio 24/7 continues
to provide instant news and access to the Capitals, including live game
audio, exclusive Capitals-related hockey content throughout the day. The
channel, which has had over 300,000 unique listeners since station launch
in April, 2015, is available through the Caps Mobile App by accessing the
Caps Radio 24/7 button at the bottom of the home screen, through
WashingtonCaps.com and also through TuneIn radio, a free app that helps
people find and listen to music, sports, news and talk content on the web.
TuneIn is utilized by more than 50 million active monthly listeners to
radio stations worldwide. Caps Radio 24/7 listeners have consumed over
750,000 listening hours since the launch, with more than 1.1 million
listening sessions.

Channel 93.3 Adds Ethan Cole For Nights

iHeartMedia CHR Channel 93.3 KHTS-FM El Cajon/San Diego CA has filled its
nighttime opening with the addition of Ethan Cole from sister Kiss 108
107.9 WXKS-FM Boston.

Cole has spent the past two years as a producer on the Matty In The Morning
show and weekends at Townsquare Medias Fun 107 WFHN Fairhaven/New Bedford
MA under the name Jagger. The Los Angeles native will fill the opening
created by Nathan Fasts departure earlier this month for mornings at CBS
Amp 103.7 KVIL Dallas.

iHeartMedias KHTS (Channel 93.3) has announced that Ethan Cole has been
named its new nighttime host, broadcasting weekdays from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00
a.m., effective January 30.

For the last 2 years, Cole has been making a name for himself in Boston as
an on-air talent and as the producer of Matty In The Morning on
iHeartMedia’s WXKS (Kiss 108). Ethan is an active blogger and social media
influencer. His Kiss 108 blog ranked in the top 50 for monthly unique
visitors among all iHeartMedia talent nationwide in 2016.

Ethan will fit right into the Channel 93.3 brand! His energy and strong
digital presence will help elevate nights to the next level, said Joe Haze,
Program Director, Channel 93.3.

Saga To Begin Operating WUVA On February 1

Saga Communications will begin operating 92.7 WUVA via Time Brokerage
Agreement on Wednesday, February 1.

As part of the FCC filings for the deal, Saga also applies to move the
station from the current tower it shares with University of Virginias 91.1
WTJU to the adjacent tower used by Saga AAA 106.1 The Corner WCNR Keswick
with 610w/311m.

Update 1/20: Saga will pay $1.65 million for WUVA.

Additionally, WUVA General Manager David Mitchell told Cavalier Daily to
expect a continuation of Country programming on the station. He told the
paper, In this case, a country product with a great signal completes Saga’s
market portfolio. I would expect a country continuance.

Original Report 1/17: Saga Communications is acquiring WUVA Inc.s Country
92.7 Nash Icon WUVA Charlottesville VA for an undisclosed amount.

WUVA Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit owned and operated by University of
Virginia students and alumni to train students in commercial radio
operation. The funds from the sale of the station will go to fund its
digital and video journalism platform WUVANews.com as it evolves with
modern communications.

Saga will not retain the WUVA call letters. The station will become Sagas
sixth in the Charlottesville market.

After operating a Charlottesville radio station for 70 years, including 37
years as a commercial FM station, today the University of Virginia
student-owned media organization, WUVA, Inc., announced that it has agreed
to sell its radio station WUVA-FM 92.7 to Saga Communications, Inc. (NYSE
MKT: SGA).

WUVA, Inc., owned and operated by University of Virginia students since
1947, will continue to serve the University and Charlottesville communities
through its growing online news platform, WUVANews.com
(http://wuvanews.com/). Launched in 2011, WUVA News has become a leading
source of journalism on Grounds, producing high-quality written and video
news content.

“It certainly is bittersweet to transition out of FM radio. But on behalf
of WUVA’s student leadership, I’m very excited to focus on completing our
transition to a digital-first news organization with expanded production
capabilities – and now with an endowment to support our future,” said
Kailey Leinz (College ’17), WUVA President. “We will remain a strong,
independent editorial voice at the University of Virginia.”

“WUVA has a rich tradition as a broadcaster and as a training ground for
scores of leaders in media over its history,” said Edward Swindler, WUVA
Alumni Board Member (College ‘76, Grad AS ’82, Darden ’84) and a 32-year
NBC Universal executive. The sale proceeds will endow our digital news
organization, enable us to modernize our reporting and delivery, and reach
the UVA and Charlottesville communities on more relevant platforms. Our
focus on digital video will also better prepare graduating students to
compete and lead in a rapidly-evolving media environment.”

“A fiscally secure and expanded WUVA News will also cooperate more closely
with the University of Virginia’s renowned Media Studies Department and
emerging Center for Media and Citizenship,” said Richard Marks (College
’66), General Counsel for WUVA. The Center was co-founded by WUVA and the
Media Studies Department in 2012 with a grant from the Jefferson Trust.

“It’s been an honor to serve Charlottesville as a commercial FM radio
station. We know Saga Communications will be a worthy steward of our FM

ownership of 92.7 FM will benefit Charlottesville’s listeners, the entire
University of Virginia community, and 92.7 FM’s advertisers.”

Edward K. Christian, President and Chief Executive Officer of Saga
Communications, said, “We have enjoyed working with everybody at WUVA, Inc.
and are looking forward to adding the station to our radio group, allowing
us to expand our service to the Charlottesville community. Saga intends to
continue building its business in both the radio and television markets by
identifying and acquiring middle market stations.”

WUVA’s sale to Saga is subject to Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
approval. The sale is expected to close in early 2017. As a part of the
agreement, WUVA will retain all rights to the “WUVA” trademark and all
assets related to the operation of WUVA News.

As a non-profit corporation, WUVA, Inc. will continue to raise funds for
its investments in local journalism and the training of University of
Virginia students in video and print journalism and media operations.

ESPN Upstate Shifts Frequencies In Greenville

Entercom Sports ESPN Upstate has changed translator frequencies in
Greenville SC to better cover that side of the market.

The brand is now being heard on newly launched 97.7 W249DL Greenville as
opposed to 105.9 W290BW in addition to 1330 WYRD and 93.7 WFBC-HD3
Greenville. W249DL operates with 250w/328m from Paris Mountain north of
Greenville. 105.9 W290BW operates with 250w/106m from the Entercom studios
east of Greenville.

The move was part of a multi-facility change that saw Entercom move its
97.1 W246BU Spartanburg to 97.7 Greenville, while replacing that facility
with the move of 97.1 W246CV Greenwood SC to Spartanburg as part of the AM
Revitalization using the same facilities as the moved translator. W246CV
rebroadcasts 950 WORD Spartanburg to bring the ESPN programming to the
northern half of the market.

Entercom’s ESPN Upstate changed frequency from 105.9 FM to 97.7 FM to
upgrade coverage and reach more listeners. ESPN Upstate will continue to
simulcast on 1130 AM in Greenville, 97.1 FM and 950 AM in Spartanburg and
on HD radio all over the Upstate on WFBC-FM HD3.

In less than three years of operation, ESPN Upstate has become a leader in
local and national sports coverage including local talk shows, “The Huddle”
(weekdays 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.) and “Straight Up with Sturg” (weekdays 4:00 –
7:00 p.m.). These shows were rated as the top two sports talk shows in 2016
by the South Carolina Broadcasters Association (SCBA). With the frequency
change to 97.7 FM the Greenville audience can expect a cleaner signal with
a broader reach from ESPN.

“When it comes to sports, the ESPN Upstate brand is second to none. The
steady growth on the station has been fantastic since it signed on three
years ago,” said Mark Hendrix, operations manager for ESPN Upstate. “The
move to a new FM home, 97.7 in Greenville County will allow ESPN Upstate to
reach even more listeners which will better serve our advertisers.
