Does anyone know anything about the Optimod 8000A...?

Used to use one.

Anyone still use it ...?

Probably - the smaller stations probably still have one, and the newer ones may have
it as a backup if they still maintain an analog program STL feed.

Can it be used for recording...?

Why would you want to?

Ruff....value these days....?

Tell you what...if you have one, and $200 to go with it, I'll take it off your hands.

Thanks..........Mike

Sure. Sorry to abuse your curiosity, but these boxes are some 10-20 years old, and
they're really designed as the final link in a broadcast audio chain. Good in their
day, today's technology (DSP, mostly) has far outstripped the previously-novel way
that this machine dealt with clipping and compression artifacts.
