Thanks to the several people who have responded already. They were
sharp enough to copy & paste the original questionaire... with their
responses... and send via email. Actually, I was surprised at some of
the responses... but that's good. That means that my ideas for the
feature list may not be mainstream. I'm looking forward to others
responding so I can see trends as they develop.

You're no better a liar than you are an engineer, Brian. Just
remember.... 34 watts!!!

He is a piece of work. To bad there are those who will take his bait
hook, line & sinker.

There won't be too many, not with the bad reputation he's creating for
himself in this group by having his ignorant ass handed to him all the
time. I'm beginning to think the fool actually -wants- to fail.

Brian, do you ask these questions in any other forum other than this? A
periodical perhaps? Readers here will follow threads you start and see
the responses from other operators trashing your claims. How do you
think that sits with potential consumers? Have you patented any of your
inventions? Does the FCC know what you intend to sell to the public?
Readers want to know...

I have not asked in other forums at this time. Can you recommend
others?

On your Web site?
Maybe you could even ask other CB related Web sites if they wish to place
the questions on their Web site.

How does this sit with potential customers? Very good. They know that
we are serious about providing excellent products, and value their
feedback.

I also feel that customers should know that their requirements are
considered, but you still have to consider that replies here are public and
will be cached.
Any questions will get a certain amount of nasty replies, but on this group
you are just begging for offensive replies.

I often do a Google search on a company before dealing with them - see if
there are any comments or records of problems. If potential customers
research your business or products, would you want them to see the kind of
thing that gets posted on this group?
I would consider private replies, with the figures being made public to show
that you listened to customers.

Does the FCC know? Maybe you could inform the FCC that this device
will be sold to the public.

Is the FCC bothered about speech processors?

james wrote:
Zero. Since it is well documented that Audio processing has marginal
performance improvements on a amplitude signal. Thus the rest of the
survey would be no more than a "1" if applicable.

Oh, but you have given input. You are not interested in such a device.

Oh, but he could be. If more people say the same, would you consider
changing your plans to fit the market - or are you just wanting to sell your
idea of what they should want?

Regards,

Peter.

very valuable to us... and we wish you would take a few minutes to
complete the following questionnaire. Thanks for your help in
developing this new product!

Background:
Two-way CB radio communication relies on the voice modulation content
contained on the signal. Maintaining a high modulation level is crucial
in providing the highest possible transmitting distance from any
transmitter operating on AM, FM, and SSB. Current CB radios normally
rely on microphones that inherently change audio levels inputted to the
transmitter. This causes transmitter modulation to fluctuate greatly
depending on voice level. This audio fluctuation lowers overall
modulation levels applied to the transmitter, resulting in less than
optimum transmission range.

Product Description:
A module that can be fitted to CB radios that provides dynamic speech
compression, limiting, and low-level background noise attenuation on
transmit. The speech compression will provide a constant high level of
modulation to transmitted signals, independent of voice level.

Please rate the importance 1-5 (1-not important to 5-very important) of
the following categories:

General:
Importance of adding some type of speech processing to the transmitter
on your radio (1-5)5
Importance of being available in kit form (1-5)
Importance of cost below $25 (1-5)
Importance of cost below $50 (1-5)5
Importance of cost below $75 (1-5)
Importance of a comprehensive warranty (1-5)5

Physical:
Importance of being light weight (1-5)
Importance of small size (1-5)5

Performance/Features:
Importance of ability to switch processor in and out of transmit audio
signal path (1-5)5
Importance of not having to change batteries (1-5)5
Importance of adjustable audio compression (1-5)5
Importance of compatibility with condenser type microphones (1-5)5
Importance of compatibility with crystal type microphones (1-5)1
Importance of visible modulation indicator (1-5)5

Installation:
Importance of ability to install processor inside radio (1-5)3
Importance of ease of installation (1-5)4
Importance of ability to install processor without professional help
(1-5)5
Importance of comprehensive installation instructions (1-5)5

Thank you for your response. Your input will allow us to develop the
best possible blend of performance and features for this new product.
