Well thanks once again. At least there is one person, you, who is more
interested in CB Radio topics than seeing who can out do their buddies posting trash. I went to a hamfest today and picked up a 40 meter hamstick. I put my screwdriver antenna back on for 80 meters. Now it won't tune. I get a 4:1 SWR, even when I take a clip lead to the feedpoint. My 20 and 40 meter hamsticks are tuned for the center of the extra/advanced portions. I think it's a bad ground on the screwdriver. As I was monkeying around with the clip leads, the SWR did go down to 2 and 1.5 for moments so there is hope...My KW-7 still measures good at 28.370...lost a set screw in my 144/440 antenna...so much to do and so little time. Sunspots will return...someday. We had a dozen today! My signal stalking scanner was fun at the hamfest. They walk by and key up and my PRO-84 gives them feedback or echo. One guy using FRS had the funniest look on his face when it happened to him!!! Caught another guy trying out 10 meter FM on 29.200. One hamfest, the sponsors were using 440 ham frequencies to do their business. One was hooked to the PA. If I wanted to figure out their PL tone... |
