Hello Jim (this group is a sewer)

I'm still here, and on 11 meters ssb.

I'm about to do the c131 mod to my kenwood ts870.

Are you on the air now?
.

Not yet Steve as I have to figure out where to mount the JoGunn 5+5 now
that I put a second story on the house. A friend gave me a 40' tower but
its difficult to position it as you know its quite crowded here on the
island and neighbors are close.

Copy that. Perhaps start with a ground plane or dipole first to get a feel
for things, I'm certainly learning from my mistakes with antenna placement
but that **** runs into money.

I'd be golden -without- the powerline noise, and the electric company has
been fairly accommodating with attempts to repair it, no glory.

So now I'm running 300' of lmr-400 to the south building, to get away from
the static.

If I had to do it over again I'd start with a dipole or plane, fwiw. Those
are easier to move doncha know.

ps. 2510 still strong.
