Between the crap about adair and mork it's amazing people still frequent
this ng. The days of people arguing about feed line length versus swr seems like a distant memory. Are there any old timers here who want to try and turn the tide? |

Not yet Steve as I have to figure out where to mount the JoGunn 5+5 now that I put a second story on the house. A friend gave me a 40' tower but its difficult to position it as you know its quite crowded here on the island and neighbors are close. |

Perhaps start with a ground plane or dipole first to get a feel for things, I'm certainly learning from my mistakes with antenna placement but that **** runs into money. I'd be golden -without- the powerline noise, and the electric company has been fairly accommodating with attempts to repair it, no glory. So now I'm running 300' of lmr-400 to the south building, to get away from the static. If I had to do it over again I'd start with a dipole or plane, fwiw. Those are easier to move doncha know. ps. 2510 still strong. ![]() |

Thanks. I'm more particular to the air side of defense as the family has been building planes since the '30's. Last plane was the F14D Super Tomcat. Its retired now so I've moved on to state of the art telecomm's. |

That collection was awesome, it was amazing the stuff that guy has. I'll let you know when I'm out your way, visiting the Smithsonian. We'll make a day or two for the Air & Space museum. Landshark |
