Hello Scott, looks like we're setting a record for quiet but- like they say be careful what you ask for. 73 Steve. Hello Scott and Steve: I got skip just a few nights ago. I was in the garage working on a project, and while listening in on 38 LSB. I could hear what sounded like locals trying to make skip DX contacts and such. I asked myself who their were as I didn't recognize their voices. As they talked and trying to make skip contacts they said their were in central California, and had Colorado coming back to them for a short QSO. Then the skip slowly died out. Some call it Pop Corn Skip. The great thing about listening to all them was the golden warm sound coming from my Tram D201A feeding a GE47 light bulb as a "Sonic Cushion" that evens out the differences in the SSB audio levels, and then feeds a DSP noise canceling amplified speaker. As I was listening in I told myself I was gonna fix the Tram D201A, as it doesn't transmit in SSB, but kicks A$$ in AM. Not getting any RF signal out of the Balanced Modulator for some reason. But listening to the old Tram's tube warm sound audio sure brought back old memories.... Jay in the Mojave Krediantials: Got vacuum leak in the big truck, darn.
