Congratulations Scott
By: "Jim Hampton" to rec.radio.cb on Wed Jul 16 2003 02:47 am Not to be the bearer of bad news, but anyone located anywhere in the lower 48 can claim any unused call for the lower 48 as a 'vanity' call. Yes, we have a couple of '8' calls here in the Rochester, NY area. If I wanted jrh in my call and couldn't find one available as a '2', I could apply for (and get, if it isn't assigned) a '3', '1', '0', or whatever. KG6 is now a California call. KG6AAY is assigned in California; it used to be the amateur radio station at NavCommSta Guam (receiver site). If you're confused, think how confused us old timers are )Hey. You ever get on SSB any? I live in downtown Bflo and usually monitor 27.555MHz USB. 73s de KRT-218 --- Synchronet 3.11a-Linux NewsLink 1.64 * WolfMedia II - Buffalo, NY - telnet://lindows.synchro.net |
